Katsina SGS to support 30 indigent students in Togo University as he bags Doctorate Degree

Following his personal efforts in the promotion of western education in Katsina State, Iheris University, Lomé, Togo has conferred a Doctoral Degree of Philosophy on Leadership and Community Development on the Secretary to the Katsina State Government, Mustapha Inuwa.

Receiving the certificate and paraphernalia of the Honorary Doctorate Degree award from his delegation led by Dr. Abubakar Sani, the Katsina SGS, Mustapha Inuwa said he has accepted the Doctoral Degree because of the values Iheris University shared with the government of Katsina State as well as his personal values for education and promised to support 30 indigent students in the institution.

He said having considered the institution’s mode of learning which was based on the best global practices and its commitment to gear toward meeting the needs of Africa educationally.

According to Mustapha Inuwa “When they approached me on the said award, I was skeptical to know what it takes to be awarded. I did a thorough investigation after they explained, I again did my research and find out that Nigeria University Commission, NUC, too recognizes the certificate.

“ Again, I said if money involved, I will not accept but was satisfied when they said the award accompanied by a scholarship to 30 Katsina indigents students to study there.

“I got relieved and accepted the offer in good fate having mentioned students to study even though it was not going to be totally free but for the offer alone, I was excited because education is the bed rock of any developed society.

“I am poised to support anyone who is willing to study throughout their study’s year in Lomé, Togo, irrespective of party difference.

“This award is free even those who I delegated to collect the award testified on how their experiences are being carterred for to and from Lomé, Togo” He said.

The award was in recognitions with the Katsina SGS track record, especially for personally granting scholarships to indigent youths across Katsina State, adding that he has shown resilience in rescuing education in Katsina State.
