NAWOJ Cross River advocates better policies for the Girl Child

Government, Non-Governmental organizations and individuals have been urged to end all injustices against the girl child and to offer her every required support.

The Cross River State Chairperson of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, Mrs Umo Basi-Edet made the call in calabar to mark this year’s Day of the Girl child with the theme” Digital Generation, our Generation.”

Mrs. Basi-Edet emphasized on the need for everyone involved to raise our voices for the girl child and to stand up and support their right when necessary.

Comrade Umo-Basi appealed to government and stakeholders to improve on gender equality policies to serve as a stepping stone for the girl child to attain any height in the society.

The State chairperson charged every Girl child to be unstoppable in their choices of career, irrespective of the norms currently in the world.

She urged the girl child to raise their voices and shun all the vices capable of hindering their future, while wishing all the female children around the globe a happy 2021 Day of the Girl child.
