Customs personal performance leads to reduction of smuggling activities in Katsina

THE Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service, Katsina State has announced the reduction of smuggling activities in the State attributing it to the capacity and excellent performance of Customs Personnel manning the affairs of varied land borders.
The Acting Comptroller in charge of the Command, DC Dalha Wada Chedi made the revelation on Wednesday in a press conference held at the Command headquarters, Katsina State.
Chedi while warning smugglers in the State to desist from the illegal business of smuggling and turn to alternative legitimate business explained that the command has within the period under review intercepted contraband items worth over sixty-five (65) million Naira.
Items seized include twelve (12) different brand of vehicles with a Duty Paid Valued over 55 million naira as well as eleven (11) assorted food and non-food items with a total Duty Paid Valued over nine million naira respectively.
