Again, bandits massacre 12 persons in Katsina

AGAIN, bandits in their large number, at the late hours yesterday, Saturday, in one of their attacks in Duba community, Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State, killed at least twelve persons and wounded six others.
The Bandits numbering over 300 armed with General Purpose Machine Guns, GPMGs, and Anti Aircraft, attacked the community at about 20:45 hours.
In a telephone conversation, the State Police spokesman, SP Gambo Isah confirmed the incidence today, Sunday.
“Bandits had upon their arrival at the Duba community started shooting sporadically into the air, after which they looted numerous shops and rustled some domestic animals belonging to the Residents.
“As a result of the attack, twelve people were killed while six injured.
SP Gambo Isah also revealed that the joint Military, Police, and Airforce operation is on to curtain the situation, as investigation is on towards arresting the perpetrators.
A resident who conferred on our correspond in Katsina said the victims’ funeral prayer has just been concluded as those who were wounded are taken to hospital for medical attention.
Batsari local government area, shared boundaries with the dreaded Rugu Forest, and one of the ten frontline local government areas in Katsina where armed bandits have been terrorizing.
