Nigeria better united than divided — President Buhari

PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari said on Tuesday in Daura, his hometown that Nigeria as a country is better to remain united than a fall-out irrespective of differences among its ethnic and religious nationalities.
He gave the advice in Daura, Katsina State while playing host to the representatives of Corps members deployed to the town who paid him a traditional Sallah homage at his residence.
The President who insisted that the National Youth Service Corps NYSC scheme had helped in promoting unity among indigents of Nigeria; hence it must be sustained.
“Not only the cultural differences but also physical differences and this is what makes Nigeria. That is why I feel strong about NYSC and I will always wish you the best of luck. And I appreciate your service to the country.
“I assure you that, there is much better of a Nigerian and rather than a fall-out”
He said the diversity in the culture and ethnic in Nigeria had been a strength for the growth and progress of the country.
President Buhari then, through his Media aide, Mallam Garba Shehu, announced the donation of two bulls, twenty bags of rice and one million naira to the corps members as their sallah gift.
The Corps members Liaison Officer, Umar Babayo had earlier lauded President Buhari for his support for the NYSC.
“ We want to also comment and applaud your efforts at revamping Nigeria’s economy through various intervention programs”.
